Soreness vs Pain
Know the difference. It matters.
Muscle soreness is the dull, achy, spread-out feeling in a muscle a day or two after training. It fades over a few days.
Pain is different. Sharp, sudden or worsening pain, pain in a joint, numbness, tingling or loss of control are warning signs, not progress. Stop the exercise. If it doesn't settle, or it is severe, see a professional.
